Domoniqu’e Deont’e White-Lewis was born on July 3, 1988 at Stanford Hospital. He was named by his grandpa, Bob White. Domoniqu’e was baptized at All Hallows Roman Catholic Church in San Francisco in 1988. His First Communion was in Mountain View.
He attended St Elizabeth Seton Catholic School from pre-k to mid-elementary. Domoniqu’e graduated from 8th grade at Shule Mandela in East Palo Alto where he gave the graduation speech. Domoniqu’e attended Woodside High School, but transferred to UPrep in Oakland in his senior year.
During his high school years he completed a chefs course at JobTrain. He later returned to focus on construction. He also had a great eye for landscaping which delighted his Mother, Kimberly, to no end!
Domoniqu’e was known as The Protector of the family, his words not ours. Domoniqu’e would always say, “I was born into this family. My family is the bomb and expectations are high, but I’m just going to be me. Respect it or keep it moving. I’m always one phone call away because I love my family.” Especially his three children.
Dom would probably say that he didn’t have friends because he considered his friends as part of his family. He had a loving heart, always a kind word to say and the ability to call you on carpet about an issue. He was definitely not afraid to speak his mind about something that was important to him.
He was a great Dad and loved his children. He especially loved life and family get-togethers. Dom’s favorite saying was, ‘Mommy, you don’t have to worry. God has my back and I pray.” To all of his friends he’d probably say, “Don’t mourn me. I’m with God. Tell my boys and my baby girl I expect my family to push them to do great things. I’m out Rogue!”
Domoniqu’e was preceded in death by his grandparents, Donald Edgerton, Bob White, Barbara Edgerton-White and Edmond Lewis, great grandmothers Jessie S. Esprit and Edmonia Savoy, and a close cousin, Paris Phills.
Dom was fortunate to have two living grandmothers, Marion Lewis (SF) and Betty Tolbert (EPA). Domo, as he was affectionately called, considered himself lucky for having 4 parents, Edmond and Dalia Lewis of San Francisco and David James and Kimberly Edgerton-James of Union City. Domoniqu’e leaves three precious children, Ja’vion Lewis, Sencere Lewis and Londyn Elisse Lewis.
He leaves 5 brothers and one sister, Bobby (KY), Malek, Khalil, and Zhi’ir (AZ), Zakai and Zinnia (SF). His best friend in life and love, Shanae Brown (Modesto), two great aunts, Gail Noble (Milpitas) and Wanda Harley (NY), one great uncle, Ronald Harley (NY), 5 uncles, Barry Edgerton (PA), Jeff Edgerton (Menlo Park), Michael James (EPA), Ken Harris (Fremont), and Donald Washington (Bay Area), 9 aunts, Rhona Edgerton-Harris (Fremont), Paris Edgerton (EPA), Amber Davis (EPA), Sandy Lewis (SF), Michelle Lewis (East Bay), Cynthia Lewis (East Bay), Joylnn Washington (East Bay) Eddeen Lewis (SF), and Nicole James (EPA) his granny Deana (SF), one nephew Dnero Blake (KY), one godson Samage Smith (Oakland), godparents Melvin and Lisa Landry (0akland), godbrothers Randall, Bruce and Robert Powell (EPA) and in Dom’s words hecka cousins: Monique Burns, Iesha Edgerton, Jaymillya Edgerton, Onetta Harris, Raquel Harris, Shyenna Robinson, YaQuir, Saidah, EJ, Vincente Miles, Kenneth Harris, Teyana Backey, Keesean Johnson, Charley Chew, Kaeden Sawyer, Mario Jr, Don-Don, Elizabeth, Ophelia, Classye, Kyle, Ilene, Ralph Lauren, Jasmine Washington, Shoshona, Eleanor, Dexter Washington (Maria), Forrest Lewis-White, Karim, Mary, Bridgette, Rivers, Rickelle, Lamar, Dominic, Diana, Jimmy, Norman, Tasia, Demetrius, Jordan, Lil Stanley, Eddie, Elaine, Marte, Antwan, Spoon, Ellise Harley and a host of family and friends.
