Jesse Lee Prim

May 08, 1938 - August 15, 2018


Jesse Lee Prim was born on May 8. 1938 in Esr Point Red River.Louisiana to the Iate Bert Prim and Annie Lee Hall. He was the t·welfth child of 14 children. He was called home to be with the Lord on August 1 5, 2018 at QueensValley Hospital in Na pa. California. Jesse received his education in Shreveport. Louisiana. Shortly after he started his life as a cook. All his life he was the sharpest dresser in this world and you couldn't tell him anything different because it was true.

Jesse moved to Menlo Park.CA in l959 to join family members and start a new life. Shortly after this move, he married one of the most beautiful and wonderful women in this world, Cleo Prim then fathered his son Kenneth Gatson and moved to Oakland. CA. As life changed, Jesse then moved back to Menlo Park to help care for his mother Annie Lee Hall (Big Mama).

Life took a change once again in Jesse's Life where he ended up on a different path, which landed him in San Francisco. CA where he was touched and supported by many during his trials as well as him replicating and celebrating the same. He was very proud of his recovery and accomplishments in life. His favorite saying until the last day I talked to him was. "Baby, it is by the grace of Cod."

Jesse then moved to San Francisco, CA after the major trials and tribulations in his life, which he was so transparent about. He later found out that he had a handsomc grandson and beautiful granddaughter, with whom he started connection. This gave him a whole different outlook on life. Jesse became a huge advocate for Glide Memorial United Methodist Church, "Men in Motion". He was a motivational speaker in different communities and several other non-profit organizations such as Street Soldiers and "Narcotics Anonymous". Going through his journey, all of these trials caused his life to flourish, touching the world and making a difference doing what God had originally called liirn to do. He then became a self-employcd apprentice for more than 20 years.

Jesse love to hate when it came to sports. He loved the San Francisco Giants (baseball). New York Jets (football) and Cavaliers (basketball). He was a loyal and dedicated fan. Talk about attitude when they lost, you didn 't want to be around him !

He is preceeded in death by his parents, Bert Prim and Annie Lee H all. his brothers Rudolph Di bbles., Irma Hall & Floyd Hall, other broth ers and son Kenneth Gatson. Jesse leaves to cherish his mcmory,·grand-son Kenneth Gatson, wife Precious Gatson, great-grandson son Kendrick Gatson of San Leandro CA. grand-daughter Kenisha Gatson and great-grandson Sir Ryder Giles of Dallas, Texas. brother Vandoulph of Shreveport, Louisiana, Tommie, and his wife Roxie Jones of San Jose, CA and AB of Shreveport, Louisiana. He leaves a host of nieces: Joyce. Faith, Annette, Paris Dcncthia and Nissi; and nephews Tommy. Kelvin, Greg, Rob. Danny Ray, great-nieces, Shemika, Hawanya, Tamara and great-nephews: DeQuincy. Justin, Lamar·and Joshua. He also leaves Latoya and a host of other relatives and friends who loved him.
