Surrounded by her family, Mrs. Lela Belle Johnson Jones was called to her eternal rest late Thursday night, September 19, 2019. Mrs. Jones, a native of Greensboro, North Carolina, moved to California in her early twenties. She would stay in California and make a life with her husband, Dr. Harold Jones. She would instill her love for learning into future generations, as a teacher in the Ravenswood City School District for over 38 years. Lela enjoyed reading, debating politics, traveling and cooking culinary delights.
Yours for mission, Lela belonged to The Peninsula Chapter of Links, Inc.; Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and was a member of the First United Methodist Church for over fifty-five years.
Lela is survived by her devoted husband, Harold Jones; two loving daughters: Crystal Jones Andrews (Reginald) of Charlotte, North Carolina, Valerie Jones of Bowie, Maryland; and one grandchild, Grant, who she loved and adored.
Mrs. Lela Belle Johnson Jones leaves a legacy of love, tradition and strength of family to show for her life. Job Well Done!
