Call for Art

Stop the Hate: Reimagining Our Communities” Art Exhibition

Hosted by:

East Palo Alto Today

Funded by the State of California

Administered by The California State Libraries

In partnership with EPACENTER

The East Palo Alto Center for Community Media made the East Palo Alto Today newspaper the centerpiece of its communication efforts. East Palo Alto Today's primary goal is to present accurate, balanced information about the issues, people and events affecting the East Palo Alto and Belle Haven communities. With its presentation of local profiles and articles focusing on the area's diverse population, East Palo Alto Today has broad local appeal.

The paper's expanded coverage encourages a new level of understanding, civic participation and cooperation: fundamental ingredients necessary for a better quality of life for the residents in the East Palo Alto and Belle Haven communities.

The theme of this exhibition is “Stop The Hate: Reimagining Our Communities.” We are calling

for art submissions connected to your reflection on the past, the present, and/or your dreams for the future. Consider these questions: What do you hope for the future of your communities? What does a community without hatred look like to you? How are you stopping the hate?

Accepted artwork will be displayed in the East Palo Alto Today newspaper and be featured on

our social media channels.
